The Project

Project Cleft is a not-for-profit student-initiated project, led by an independent team of Singapore Management University (SMU) Undergraduates, which aims to bring awareness and attention to the plight of children with facial deformities, namely those who suffer from the Cleft Lip/Palates medical condition.

This project is fully endorsed by Singapore Management University and its Malay Language & Cultural Club (MLCC), and is done in collaboration with various tertiary institutions and industry professionals. Project Cleft is also mentored by local music veteran, Andry Sani.

Our objectives are to promote student development through the Malay arts and raise awareness for our beneficiary, Operation Smile, through the sale and promotion of a new and exclusive song album.

All songs on the album are originals written in Bahasa Melayu. These songs are freshly written by tertiary youth bands from SMU, National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU)/National Institute of Education (NIE).

The album, "Sebalik Senyuman, Sehebat Cinta" will also include a one track poem (puisi) piece and accompanying album fillers, written by SMU undergraduates. The album also features a specially written theme song "Sehebat Cinta" penned by veteran local rock band Sound Salvation.
