The choice of adopting Cleft Lip as a cause stemmed from the notion that as able-bodied individuals, we take for granted the
joys of singing, and the simple gesture of a smile. Children that are born with the Cleft Lip or Palate condition struggle
with normal daily activities like breathing, eating and talking. Therefore, our song album acts as a tribute for them.
Our adopted beneficiary is Operation Smile - an international non-profit organization that raises awareness and funds to help needy
children around the world who have facial deformities from birth, especially those whose families cannot afford reconstructive s
urgery. Operation Smile conducts medical missions to developing countries to help these children undergo a simple USD$250 surgery
can change the child's life forever.
Operation Smile, though an international organisation, has limited reach in countries in the Malay Archipelago. It recently opened
a chapter in Singapore, which is positioned as a resource country for arranging medial missions to its neighbours.
As Operation Smile will be initiating its first Indonesian mission in October, we are taking this opportunity to raise as much
publicity and support for them in order to make it a great success. This is keeping in tandem with our aim of helping the Malay/
Muslim community, whether locally or regionally.
Project Cleft is in full support of the Singapore Chapter of Operation Smile and its programmes. The publicity generated through
our project will go a long way towards contributing to Operation Smile's brand and sustainability in upholding its noble cause.
